It’s been a very wet winter here in the UK and I haven’t had that many opportunities to visit good locations with my camera. So in hopeful anticipation of these little cuties returning next month, I thought I’d dig into the archive and post an image from my extended time photographing them last year.
Eurasian Penduline tits are vagrants in the UK — in other words they don’t live here, they just sometimes show up during migration seasons. They are very unique looking birds and thankfully not too skittish. I had such a lot of fun photographing 3 of them on the edge of a marshy reed bed while they fed on seeds from the dispersing cattails (or bulrushes).
