Towards the end of a day spent at Slimbridge WWT with friends, I spotted the kingfisher at the edge of one of the ponds in the centre of the reserve. This image was an exercise in composition. Initially I was stood with the kingfisher in front of a very busy branchy tree, but after repositioning about 10 feet to the left, I was able to get this much cleaner image with a mirrored branch look and beautifully smooth background.
